I lay in bed, the alarm rings, I lean over to my phone that I’m on charge beside me and press stop. I then log into my Instagram account and start scrolling, my phone in my face has become a common look….Now don’t make me feel like shit and pretend it’s only me that has this problem…. we all check something or other on our phones. It may be missed called, text messages, other social media outlets…. we all have a shitty habit similar where our morning routine before our feet touch the floor is unhealthy. If it’s not…. then I would like to congratulate you.
My husband helpfully points out to me that I could have had more sleep instead of my eyes glued to my phone.
Half dead and congested with the flu I reply with a bullshit excuse… “I was already up”..” I wasn’t on Instagram”
Like really? Am I that needy on my phone that I’m protecting it? It’s pretty pathetic to be honest. Im connecting with people outside of my home before I even get out of bed. What’s happening to this world? Are we loosing the plot?
My sister recently ditched her social media to free up time to get more done. It’s motivated me since I heard it…
So… here it is…. I dare you to change your morning ritual…. I challenge you to resist grabbing your phone first thing in the morning. I dare you to get out of bed and not lay there scrolling like a zombie soaking in the advertisements getting shoved down our throat.
Tomorrow I am going on a social media strike. I challenge you to do the same.
