Today we had someone start in the office at work (he use to work with me a few years ago and he is back), to give the team a hand with all the work load.
Its become a little overwhelming and the pace is a little too fast on days when my lungs want oxygen and sleep.
Am I excited? YES! Um… totally actually.
I worked away today smiling as I could smell the freedom this extra help will bring me. I am also so grateful that he is back, it feels like good old times, except we are all a little more grown up and matured with life.
I have so many things that I want to do with my time, I dont want to waste it, I want to use each given hour so preciously and not take a “day off” for granted. I’ve been working almost six days for a while now and I really need a slower pace.
On Friday afternoon I was very lucky to have some time from a coach, Her name is Angie and she is AMAZING! I have facebook admired her for the longest time, finally one thing led to another through email chatting and I set a time to get some help with looking at my goals for the year and getting some fresh eyes to take a look and see if there was anything that could be improved or changed.
All went well….One priceless tip I received that I was soooo grateful for was….Move the GOAL POST…. I have made an enormous goal to complete my Diploma of Counselling in two years and Im not even half way with one year to go. I know it cant be done unless I am doing it fulltime and at the moment, blogging is important to me aswell. I was feeling time starved and a little defeated until the amazingly simple yet obvious tip to move the goal post came along. I moved the goal post. I mean, I’m the one that put it there in the first place.
I LOVE writing, I don’t know where It will take me, or what opportunities will present themselves, but I love it. I also love the fact that I can sit with my oxygen on and even on the worst of days my fingers dance all over the keyboard typing all the thoughts and things that are floating in my mind.
So, my tip to you… move your goal post on something massive and make time for the side things that you keep putting back because of time limitations. Your soul will thankyou.
I suppose you will be hearing from me a little more now…. and thankyou for taking the time to read along as I journey through.
